Currently, Tuyen Quang province has 100 livestock farms, including 1 international standard GlobalGAP, 2 farms are certified for high-tech application; 5 certified farms eligible for large-scale livestock; 26 livestock and aquaculture establishments certified VietGAHP, disease safety; 70 livestock and aquaculture cooperatives operating in the form of association; 31 livestock and fishery products certified by OCOP from 3 stars or more; 3 collective brands are maintained (buffalo, Minh Huong duck, Tan Tao chicken).
Being aware of the role and importance of safe livestock production, most farmers in the direction of concentration in Tuyen Quang are fully aware of the rules of disease safety. These include periodic vaccination, strict disinfection, and minimal restrictions on entry and exit of livestock areas.
For 3 years now, the biosecurity-oriented pig farm of Mr. Bui Huy Cuong’s family, in Thai Binh commune, Yen Son district has said no to disease. Currently, Mr. Cuong’s biosecurity farm has about 400 indigenous black pigs. In raising bio-secure pigs, Mr. Cuong especially applies the “3 no’s” principle: No use of industrial bran as feed for pigs; no use of antibiotics, or lean substances; no pollution to the general environment.
Mr. Cuong said that if the disease is not well controlled, farmers will face many risks during this period. In addition to the problem of increased feed, low livestock prices, and the occurrence of diseases, farmers will struggle.

Ta Thi Kieu’s family farm, Dong Tau village, Luong Thien commune, Son Duong district has just released 100 live pigs. Immediately after selling her pigs, Ms. Kieu implemented solutions to disinfect and disinfect her family’s breeding area with chemicals and lime powder to disinfect.
Ms. Kieu said that after 1 breeding cycle, the cage may appear with fungi or pathogens harmful to livestock. The stage of decontamination, disinfection, and sanitation of the barn is very important, ensuring that the barn is disease-free and ready for the new batch of breeds.
This year, the price of pigs is low, and the price of animal feed has increased, so Ms.Kieu’s family does not re-herd massively, but only raises about 50 pigs in the immediate future. Ms. Kieu chooses to buy breeding pigs at reputable establishments with clear origins to ensure healthy, germ-free breeds. In the process of raising pigs, she strictly implements the routine vaccination process for common diseases to minimize the risks that can be caused to the herd.
Accompanying breeders, the Sub-department always follows closely with localities to advise farmers in the periods when the disease is likely to arise. If an outbreak occurs, the Sub-department will promptly accompany people to take the best measures to handle and stamp out the epidemic.
The Sub-Department has also coordinated with other units to develop annual disease prevention and control plans. Encourage the construction of disease-free areas and establishments, and animal husbandry in the direction of disease safety. Encourage the construction of concentrated slaughterhouses, or slaughtering and processing associated with animal husbandry in accordance with local planning.
Mr. Dao Duy Quy, Director of Tuyen Quang Sub-Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, said that now, farmers have done better to ensure disease-free livestock production. If this issue is not done well, the victims are directly livestock households, especially large-scale farming households.
To prevent avian influenza epidemics during the changing seasons, currently, the Tuyen Quang Sub-Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary has provided 7 districts and cities with 200,000 doses of vaccine to carry out a bird flu vaccination campaign for poultry and aquatic birds.
To ensure the safety of livestock, Tuyen Quang’s agricultural sector recommends that farmers should follow the procedures of disinfection, sterilization, and sanitation of livestock cages, especially between the seasons. These include using lime powder or disinfectant chemicals to spray and disinfect the barn…
Regarding breeding animals, for establishments and breeding households that import breeds from outside, it is necessary to find out reputable establishments with quarantine certificates. Arrange rearing in isolation for at least 2 weeks before entering the herd, fully vaccinated against diseases for cattle and poultry. Apply breeding processes towards biosecurity to limit disease.
